By purchasing a ticket to attend TEDxMississauga, the guest agrees to be bound by the terms and conditions as outlined in this policy. The content of this document shall constitute a legally enforceable contract entitling the parties to respective rights and obligations as contemplated in this policy.
Parties: The parties agree that the parties to this contract are only the Guest and KPA Lawyers Professional Corporation. References to TEDxMississauga as an organization or entity shall be deemed to be a reference to KPA Lawyers Professional Corporation insofar as necessary to satisfy any requirement of the law of contracts, legal standing or other common law principle. References to the "Guest" will collectively refer to all guests, attendees and successful guests who are selected to attend the event and persons who submitted an application to attend TEDxMississauga via www.tedxmississauga.com.
Filming: No person is permitted to film or sound-record any talks at TEDxMississauga unless authorized by TEDxMississauga in writing. Photos of talks and of the event are permitted but flash photography is not permitted.
Tickets: Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Cooperation and Conduct: TEDxMississauga reserves the right to restrict access to the event and or take any other reasonable step in the event that, in the view of TEDxMississauga, the guest has engaged in rude, inappropriate, aggressive or unprofessional behavior towards any member of TEDxMississauga, attendee, sponsor, partner or other person involved in the Event. The guest agrees to cooperate with any reasonable request made by TEDxMississauga, TED or any licensee, agent or employee of TED or TEDxMississauga.
Venue: The guest agrees to comply with standards of conduct, in-house policies and reasonable requests made to the guest by the Mississauga Convention Centre (the "venue").
Program Changes: It may be necessary for reasons beyond our control to change the content and timing of the programme, the speakers, the date or the venue at any time prior to the event date.
Travel and Accommodation: TEDxMississauga accepts no liability if the guest is unable to attend an event due to adverse weather conditions or any travel disruption. TEDxMississauga does not provide travel and accommodations to guests.
CASL Legislation: All guests agree to receive emails from TEDxMississauga and by submitting an application to attend TEDxMississauga, the Guest explicitly agrees to receive emails from TEDxMississauga for the purposes of Canada's anti-spam legislation.
Release: The Guest wholly releases, indemnifies and holds harmless TEDxMississauga, the Living Arts Centre and KPA Lawyers Professional Corporation from all claims, causes of action arising in tort, contract or otherwise. This provision is intended by both parties to release the TEDxMississauga, the Living Arts Centre and KPA Lawyers Professional Corporation from such matters including (and extending beyond), slips and falls and negligence torts. This Agreement contains the entire understanding between the Guest and TEDxMississauga.This Release shall be exclusively governed by Ontario Law without regard to choice-of-law principles. Any dispute concerning the Presentation and/or Supporting Information, or arising out of or relating to this Agreement, shall be resolved in the courts in the Province of Ontario, unless TED Conferences LLC is a party to the litigation, in which case the matter shall be heard in New York.
