Randy Persaud is known in many circles as the voice of Mississauga, a prolific character that champions many events throughout his community. Randy is one of the most sought-after hosts, announcers and community producers in Peel Region.
A charismatic Rogers Television personality for over 9 years, Randy has hosted a variety of programs from Talk Local, Local Notes, Carassauga Pre-Show, The Marty Awards Kickoff show and Cable 10 Live. A graduate of Television Broadcasting at Mohawk College, he won the highest honour in Television Broadcasting, the Andy Award, in his final year.
He has also hosted crowds of over 80,000 for many events, including the Bollywood Monster Mash, Youth day, TD Mosaic, Mac Arts Festival, Mississauga Waterfront Festival, The Pan Am Games and Carassauga. Randy also served as the official host for the first ever Hazel McCallion Day.
Randy is a member of the board of directors for Carassauga and serves as co-chair and ambassador for the Mississauga Arts Council. He serves as Director of Production for Halton Fashion Week in addition to working with Mississauga Fashion Week. Last year, Randy won the Creative Community award by the Mississauga Arts Council at the 2016 Marty Awards for his work in the community. His award was recognized by the Honourable MP Iqra Khalid in the House of Commons.
Randy was the Master of Ceremonies for the TEDxMississauga 2017 conference, and he will be returning as MC for the 2019 conference .
